Privacy policy

Effective 1 August 2026 · applies to the CatCam Android app and the CatCam Windows app

The short version

CatCam streams your tablet's camera and microphone to your own PC, over your own network. Nothing is sent anywhere else. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no servers of ours involved at all.

What the apps access

Camera and microphone (Android app): captured only while you have pressed the record button, and only to deliver the live stream to your PC. A persistent notification is shown the whole time.
Local network (both apps): the tablet announces itself on your local network so your PC can find it, and the video travels directly between the two devices over that network or a USB cable.

What we collect

Nothing. The stream goes point-to-point between your devices and is not recorded, stored, or transmitted to any third party by CatCam. No usage data, crash reports, or identifiers are collected by us.

What is stored on your devices

Your settings (chosen camera, zoom, tone, transport) are stored locally on the tablet. The Windows app keeps a local log file on your PC for troubleshooting. Neither leaves your devices.

Third parties

If you choose to install the optional VB-Audio Virtual Cable driver for microphone support on the PC, it is downloaded from vb-audio.com and is governed by VB-Audio's own terms. CatCam bundles no third-party services.

Children

CatCam is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
